Welcome to the Tonalist minute series by M Francis McCarthy.
'Golden Meadow' is a 3½x5 of a scene I've painted a lot. What I love about this composition is that it reminds me of a John Francis Murphy scene (one of my favorite all-time painters). I've done this recently as a 7x10 also in Golden hues but this 3½x5 has a wider spread of coloration than it's bigger brother and I'm quite happy with it.

'Meadow Stream' Completed very recently, is a scene I painted back in 2011 as a 12x18. At that time that was a very large size for me. Tonalist Minute Series #8 Heading West 7x7
Welcome to the Tonalist minute series by M Francis McCarthy.
'Heading West 7x7 was completed back in July/August of this year. Its a study for a larger painting that I did in August. I'm happy with both paintings but unfortunately, a huge chunk of the video went missing for the larger version so I won't be sharing that anytime soon. Heading west is a type of scene I like to paint best, nice road int the sunset with some lush tree and a lot of emotion.

Tonalist Minute Series #7 Into Twilight 3x3
Welcome to the Tonalist minute series by M Francis McCarthy.
'Into Twilight' 3x3 completed recently is a scene I also painted once before as an 8x8 back in 2013. I' really happy with the way the 3x3 mini version turned out, especially the sky. Into Twilight is the first 3x3 I did a second color pass on. It just needed it. For the most part, I'm trying to keep these little paintings to one color pass but as always quality must win out. If I see something that needs doing, I do it.
