Welcome to the Tonalist minute series by M Francis McCarthy.
Road at Dusk 5x7 was painted back in 2014. It's a scene I've revisited many times. I love 'tree tunnels' they have a fascination for me that comes out in the paintings I do. I did many nice paintings in 2014 but many of them have been revised in some way. Sold long ago now, Road at Dusk 5x7 is one that I'm very proud of and happy to share with you today.

Welcome to the Tonalist minute series by M Francis McCarthy.
A recent 3½x5 and a pretty good composition. Again I really enjoyed executing the scene at 3½x5. Whats especially neat is to zoom in and see how abstract the painting really is. I will most likely be doing this as a 7x10 in the near future.

Tonalist Minute Series #4 Dusky Path 3x3
Welcome to the Tonalist minute series by M Francis McCarthy.
Another recent 3x3. I like this composition a lot and I've done the scene in many different formats and sizes. 3x3 is definitely the smallest I've executed the scene. I really like working with a textured surface at these small sizes. 3x3 is bit small though and going forward I think I'll be jumping up to 31/2x31/2, still small but that will give me a bit more room to accommodate frame rabbits.

Tonalist Minute Series #1 Tree with Rocks 3x3
Welcome to our first post in this new series!
I'll be rolling these out during weekdays. For now, I also plan to continue the longer format videos that I've been doing on the weekend. I've noticed that the average viewing time of my current vids was 4 minutes so I thought 'why not try a shorter format and see what people think?'
